James Herriot Artwork
About the Prints: I was commissioned by "The World of James Herriot" to produce some prints for
the opening of the Museum in 1999.
I have lived in Thirsk for 30 years and for the past 25 years worked in and around Kirkgate, almost opposite Skeldale
House. The "Vetscapes" series
of prints are designed to illustrate localities which feature prominently in the life of James Herriot. The first
produced was "The Red Door" an open
edition print followed by four limited edition prints. These are all signed - if you wish a particular inscription
you only have to ask.
About the Museum: The museum is located at Skeldale house, 23 Kirkgate in Thirsk, North Yorkshire.
This was the real Veterinary
Practice of Alf Wight, now internationally known as James Herriot the name he used to recount his escapades
as a vet. Since the mid 1970's the
exploits and adventures of those who worked and visited here have become widely known through these writings. These
reminiscences have been further publicised
by films and the television series "All Creatures Great & Small". Click

House Portraits / Buildings
Buildings: When planning, building, or marketing proposed dwellings, or substantial redevelopment
of buildings, the value of a picture to help clients visualise the completed development is a tremendous advantage.
Drawings can be produced when photographs are impractical at an early stage in the project. It has
been found that illustrations can assist and confirm buying decisions early in the programme.
House Portraits: I have been commissioned to paint a great variety of homes these can be
produced after discussion with you to find the favourite view in the right season. You may select mount and frames
to suit the decor of your home. The same artwork may be used as a basis for letterheads, business cards, and
special invitations. If you are considering such a project please contact me for a quote.
