The Red Door - World of James Herriot Museum - Thirsk - Yorkshire

World of James Herriot Museum & Kirkgate, THIRSK, print from Original Watercolour by Richard E Bennett.

This is the Red Door, easily recognisable as the entrance to the most famous Veterinary Surgery in the World - that of James Herriot! The dog typifying the "small animals" that were James' favourites.

This painting is a later version of the painting commissioned for the opening of the World of James Herriot Museum, former home of the Veterinary Practice of Alf White.
Better known under the pen name of James Herriot, Alf used to write books describing his varied work whilst running his Veterinary Practice in Thirsk. Adaptations into, films, and a lengthy TV series have brought visitors from around the world.
The Surgery premises were converted to the "World of James Herriot" Museum in 1999 when the Surgery moved to a new location.
Please visit the extensive Museum where you can also see the sets used for the TV series and get involved in the wonderful World of James Herriot.

The print of the original watercolour is digitally printed on Bockingford Acid Free Inkjetpaper to reproduce the original work faithfully.
An Acid Barrier Card will be supplied to protect the print when framing. Each print is signed individually.
